Today was one of those days where you look at the few weeks that have gone by. Four weeks ago was the day that Paloma started with her surprises, the first one her kittens being stuck in her womb. It has been a bumpy road for those little ones, making sure they picked up an average of 10g a day, cleaning eyes so that they would not get infected and making sure that every morning when we checked on them that they were all still alive. Today we are so happy that they are a month old and have made it, they are still fragile and have a lot of growing to do, but the worst is over; the most difficult times of their kittens years. So happy one month birthday Litter EE.
This week we have updated the cattery if you can say, our boys like to pace when the girls call, and as we give the girls a break the boys just walk all day, also cat pee kills all plants so you can imagine what the grass has to go through just to live. In curtain areas the grass has completely died off and with our rainy seasons coming up muddy paws are bound to happen so Cherylee has decided to put fake grass in. The cats don't like change and all these weird people walking through the cattery yet as wary as they are they cannot wait to investigate when the workers have left for the day. Some cats take advantage and have a good roll on the grass, others lie comfortably on the grass and others well it might take a few days to get used to this nose while they are walking on it (guilty as charged). The fake grass does look much better and with the grass we will be adding in tubs in the studs cages they don't mind that much.
Today has been one of those days where it is just so unbelievably hot. I was seriously considering put the sprinkler on and running through it like a small child. The cats also felt the heat, but still found the energy to be all kinds of mischief. Nigella our escape artist has settled down nicely with her fat belly, she will mostly lie near Eddie, her boyfriend, as he is right next door to the girls. If she is not listening to all Eddy's serenades she is chasing Baby Lox around. Paloma was catching these big seeds that we were throwing for her and rolling around with Baby Lox when they played together. Narnia was being herself, little Miss Jealousy and walking where ever you went. She was also being a real nana by rubbing against my hair and biting it, it made me laugh so much the way she acted, it was almost like I washed my hair this morning with catnip shampoo and conditioner. One of Paloma's kittens showed us today that he was born a show cat. As many cat showers know for some reason at home your cat is perfectly fine and once he/she is in that show carrier they are in that cat litter so fast, and they just lie in it. Which is horrible for medium and Long haired cat owners, so we have a secret, we love using this cat litter we sell, minimal tracking and absorbs the smell if one of your cats decides to do a discharge at a show, and trust me that is the most embarrassing thing to happen, even though it is completely natural and you could not prevent it, but the looks you get and the crinkled noses in the air telling you that you have been shamed say it all. So yea take a look at our awesome cat litter on our site if you want to change you and your cat's life, save money or just want to throw your cats faeces down the toilet because hey you can, it is completely bio-degradable, also if you have your own compost, we have made enough that we don't need to get compost for our gardens at the shop. . So yes back to our show born kitten, this morning he was catching a few rays of sunshine while sleeping in the cat litter, completely cute.
