We all know that wonderful feeling, calling up a breeder and getting the nods up that you can have the little kitten you wanted, you have probably also been waiting for years to have your very own fluffy friend that is yours to keep and is technically only yours when you need to clean up after them. A couple of weeks later you arrive at their door, carrier in hand, boot filled with toys, beds, litter, and even books because you really want to be prepared to take extra care of your best friend. You see him/her in the distance and your heart is ready to jump out of your chest, you won't admit it but you probably want to cry for joy just a little bit. At that point everything is great you thank the breeder and take your new best friend home. This is a thank you too all breeders. You love each and every one of your animals, when they get sick you are there to hold their little paws, hooves or what ever it may be. You watch them grow up into the beautiful loving creatures that they are, you make that decision that its time to have a boyfriend for a little while, and yes you don't get to choose who that is, if I don't like the boy. . .you ain't getting nothing. Thank you for going through all the tough times that we don't see, behind the scenes. All those hours of waiting for your queen to come into labor, watching those contractions, waiting for that baby to come out white supporting your queen like she was your favorite sport team, making sure the babies are breathing and drinking from their mother. You have seen more heartache and said goodbye more than you should. Thank you for everything that you have done, thank you for bringing me and my best friend together, and probably a few more because what can I say, I'm kinda addicted :) |

AuthorHi there! I'm Shené and I au-pair cats, well sort of. I work for Cherylee Powell who breeds Siberian cats in South Africa. Over the three years her cattery has enlarged to 23 breeding cats and that is where I come in - a helping hand where needed. I love my job to bits and can not wait to tell you all about our cats and learning experiences. Archives
