Yesterday was a bit of a mixed emotions day. Nushka had four little boys on mother's day and yesterday Cherylee took Beluga to the airport so that he can meet his new owners. It was very sad seeing him go. The more I work with the kittens, watching them grow in their moms until it is time for them to leave, I have gotten so attached to them. Beluga was the shy one out of the litter, the smallest and definitely mommy's little boy as he was always with Nushka. Over the past few weeks Beluga has come out of his shell and turning into such a loving and social kitten. I wish him many happy memories with his new family. The last week we only had the company of two of Nushka's little ones, Beluga and Boss. Now that Beluga is gone Boss is pinning for his brothers, hoping they will attack him from their secret hiding spot, but no one came out to play. So it was time for a great deal of snuggles and extra special play time for Boss. He went cazy and loved it, still missing his brothers yet I made sure he was not alone. He also played with the robofish, which cats absolutely love, especially our water girl Pavla. While feeding all the cats Bushy (a Neva Masquerade) was reunited with her 'sister' Quizzy after spending some time with Danver, one of our studs. We have these little homes for the outside cats; it is basically like a huge box made out of wood with a sleeping perch inside and includes a veranda. Now we have some locals that just love to eat all the cat's food and poo everywhere, these locals go by the name hadedas. We have now placed a cat tunnel on the veranda to prevent these locals from caring on their criminal behavior. So I showed Bushy our new design arrangements to the house. She was not sure about it, but when I looked again she had gotten into the tunnel. I took a few shots and gave her lots of love, letting her do her thing. Another day where cats never stop loving you or surprising you <3 |

AuthorHi there! I'm Shené and I au-pair cats, well sort of. I work for Cherylee Powell who breeds Siberian cats in South Africa. Over the three years her cattery has enlarged to 23 breeding cats and that is where I come in - a helping hand where needed. I love my job to bits and can not wait to tell you all about our cats and learning experiences. Archives
