On our bluest days cats really know how to make us smile and enjoy life. Today was one of those days. Most of our girls are in season which means orchestra practice 24/7, it is quite cute as they make this chirping noise yet some make these callings which make you think "what the hell" when have heard it the first time. Narnia, one of our silver own bred cats, was super duper loving today. At around mid day Cherylee and I went out searching for knots as we do like to be on top of them. When we were with all the girls Narnia was just rolling all the time non stop, no cat nip needed. She is also super jealous so every time we tried getting a knot out of one of the girls then she would squeeze in between us also wanting some love. Nushka, our golden girl who is a special story on her own, was playing outside today. she is not used to playing so we have gathered as the first time she ran in the cattery it was like she discovered she had legs. Cherylee created this awesome cat toy ZaBird which is like a fishing rod with gut and a feather refill attached, Cherylee was dragging the feathers across the grass, waiting for Nushka to Pounce at any moment, which she did, with her funny run she ran after the feathers and as soon as she gets a certain distance she would run away, this went on a couple of times. Nushka was also being very silly when we brought all the girls inside she walked away from us, not wanting to go inside, it took Cherylee over 30 minutes before Nushka sort of surrendered and we got her inside. Nushka is now playing up a storm with her two last baby boys who are 11 weeks old. Cats can be really silly at times and I am sure you will hear more about them causing trouble and being naughty, but most of all being so lovable and friendly. I can not wait to tell you more about our adventures with breeding, showing and living with Siberians. |

AuthorHi there! I'm Shené and I au-pair cats, well sort of. I work for Cherylee Powell who breeds Siberian cats in South Africa. Over the three years her cattery has enlarged to 23 breeding cats and that is where I come in - a helping hand where needed. I love my job to bits and can not wait to tell you all about our cats and learning experiences. Archives
